Description

Now available from Prothane is poly engine mount inserts to replace the old, worn out, OEM rubber inserts in your stock engine mounts. The motor mount inserts come in both black and red. They come with new metal pins as well. A great kit for some DIY people.

Poly engine mounts are a great upgrade. They transmit very little engine noise and vibrations through the cabin. But they allow virtually no engine/transmission movement in the engine bay. This is great to make the engine and transmission more connected to the car. Allowing for some chassis stiffening and less wheel hop.

I purchased a set of these Prothane Motor Mounts shortly before christmas and had them installed on my 3000gt SL model by Ground Zero Performance (3swarehouse’s shop) and am extremely happy with them!

Now that they are installed, my motor does NOT move at all, including under WOT. It’s virtually eliminated wheel-hop, and has helped with engine response.

As expected, there is a slight increase in vibration, but it is negligible, and definitely worth it.

Pick up a set of these, you won’t regret it!

I bought a whole set of these, but have only installed the front and rear roll stopper mounts do to my rear roll stopper going bad. I had them professionally installed by a trusted shop, and I could not be happier having had them only for a month. Even with just the roll stoppers replaced, the car has an audible rumble inside the cabin from the minor vibrations, and the car feels more like a race car. It’s changed the personality quite a bit already where now it feels like it’s just itching to get up and GO! I also have better traction around tight corners at street intersections from a stop when I’ve had to step on the throttle to get going more quickly, and not having the outside wheel spinning so much. They feel pliable in your hand, but do a surprisingly good job at stiffening up the connections from the engine to the chassis! I will probably be continuing to buy Prothane bushings for the rest of my car as well!
